Specialized Trauma Interventions
Explore what healing can look like for you. Therapy for Trauma & PTSD in Fair Oaks and across CA, CO, SD, & NV.
The past changed you, but it doesn’t have to run the show anymore.
Trauma can change how you think, feel, connect, and even live in your own body—like the version of yourself before the event is gone forever.
Healing can feel scary, and it’s normal to want it and fear it at the same time. But it is possible.
If you’re dealing with trauma, PTSD, complex grief, or unresolved loss, we’ll find the approach that fits you best: evidence-based, practical, and grounded in safety and real connection.
TRAUMA Interventions
There is no one-size-fits-all for trauma. Not every method works for every person, and trauma manifests itself differently in each of our lives. That’s why I offer a range of research-backed tools, so we can find what fits you best—and adjust if we need to.

Sometimes the first step toward reclaiming your sense of self is just having a space to say things out loud without fear of judgment. In our work together, we don’t rush into the trauma itself. Instead, we move at your pace. We’ll take our time exploring how trauma has shaped your current experiences, what patterns or coping strategies are helping, and which ones are keeping you stuck.
Talk therapy with me is about integration—not erasure. Because true healing isn’t about “getting over it,” pretending it didn’t happen, or forcing yourself to let things go. It’s about making sense of what happened in a way that lets you live more freely in the present.

If you’ve tried talk therapy before and still feel stuck, EMDR may be a powerful next step. It is a gentle, evidence-based approach that helps your brain process and release the stress response tied to traumatic memories—without having to talk about those memories over and over. Using bilateral stimulation (like eye movements or tapping), EMDR activates the brain’s natural healing ability to shift the way traumatic experiences are stored and accessed.
It helps you revisit traumatic experiences without being re-traumatized by them—so you can begin to feel safer and more in control of your life again.

Sometimes trauma feels less like a story and more like it’s trapped in your body, showing up as anxiety, chronic tension, dissociation, or emotional overwhelm. Brainspotting is a body-based trauma treatment that works by identifying “brainspots”—eye positions linked to unprocessed trauma stored in the brain and nervous system.
This method bypasses the overthinking mind and taps into deeper emotional and physical processing, allowing you to heal on a level that words alone sometimes can’t reach. If you’ve felt like talking doesn’t get to the root, Brainspotting may be a better fit.

ART is designed for people who want relief quickly. It combines elements of EMDR, Brainspotting, and guided imagery to help power down the emotional charge or intensity of distressing memories. Unlike some traditional trauma therapies, ART is highly structured and focused on rapid symptom relief—often in just a handful of sessions.
If you’re looking for something practical, focused, and efficient—ART is a great option. It still addresses the hard stuff, but gives your brain a faster path through it.

GETTING STARTED
We’ll begin by talking about your experience—on your terms and your timeline.
You don’t need to tell me everything on day one, and you never have to justify why you’re here. You may be dealing with a single traumatic event, ongoing trauma, unresolved grief, or multiple things at once. No matter what, I will meet you with compassion, curiosity, and zero judgment.
Once we’ve established safety and gained clarity about your goals, we’ll decide—together—which approach is the best fit.
Some clients stick with talk therapy, while others benefit from EMDR, Brainspotting, or ART—or a blend of the three. What matters most is that your healing path is tailored to you.
Along the way, you’ll learn tools to manage overwhelming emotions, regulate your nervous system, and better understand what’s happening inside your body and mind when trauma responses get activated. So change doesn’t just happen in your insight, but in something you actually feel in everyday life.

FAQs

No, not at all. Many of the trauma interventions I use—like EMDR, Brainspotting, and ART—are designed to help you heal without having to rehash painful memories in detail. We move at your pace, and you're always in control of how much you share.
-
That’s more common than you might think. Many people come to me feeling frustrated by past therapy that didn’t go deep enough—or pushed too hard, too fast. I understand. My approach is gentle, trauma-informed, and flexible enough to meet you where you are now and to address what needs attention.

All three are evidence-based trauma treatments, but they work a bit differently:
EMDR uses eye movements to help your brain reprocess distressing memories
Brainspotting uses your eye position to access trauma stored in the body
ART uses visualization and eye movements for fast, focused symptom relief
Depending on what you’re struggling with, we may need a mix of more than one. As we get started, we can talk through what makes sense based on your specific needs.
